After an update in Windows 10 you may had noticed Double arrows facing each other in top right corner on folders. Do you know what is this. The double blue arros indicate that those files / folders are automatically compressed to save space.
Some people feels it annoying and spoils the appearance of their own icons. Here is the tip to remove the double blue arrows.
Follow the instruction carefully:
- First of all create a restore point.
- Open File Explorer and navigate to your top level directory
- Right click on that directory and select "Properties"
- In the General tab, select Advanced in the bottom right corner.
- Deselect "Compress contents to save disk space" and click OK.
- Select "Apply" in the bottom left corner
- You will get a pop-up > Select option two - Apply changes to all folders and sub-folders
- Dialog screen will appear that files are being changed.
After the process blue arrows will be disappeared!.
Repeat for other top level directories too if necessary.
